Hi there!

I’m Miriam, a Textile Designer from Santa Cruz, California.

After completing my degree at The Academy of Art University, I pursued my passion by designing for various retail companies. Using illustrations and color I help design teams tell seasonal stories with print and pattern. At the start of a new project I am always striving for a fresh point of view and attention to detail.

Having grown up in close proximity to the ocean and mountains I draw tremendous inspiration from the outdoors. The memories I have of being a teen chasing waves with my friends, camping with family, traveling with my soccer team often come through in my work. Whether it be drawing jellyfish, creating a mountain fair isle, or coloring up the perfect summer madras, through print I can share snapshots of my love of nature and my hometown.

My work has been exhibited in the Bay Area, online, and on the runway. In 2010, my project “If Water Were Ink: Gorillas on the Street” was awarded Best in Home Decor for the Discarded to Divine Competition. The project was displayed in San Francisco at the DeYoung Museum. I was awarded Second Place in the Stylesight Print and Graphics International Competition (2011). My print collection “Nutopia” was featured on STYLESIGHT.com (now part of WGSN). As a graduate, my collaboration project was one of 15 selected to show at the Senior Fashion Show with guests of honor Sarah Burton, Phillip Treacy, H.R.H. Princess Reema Bint Bandar Al Saud, Cathy Horyn, and Suzy Menkez (2012).

I am currently based in San Francisco and open new opportunities and relocation.
