SURFACE NOVELTY DEVELOPER
From inception to bulk yardage, my role as surface novelty developer encompasses it all — advising on print and graphic execution by fabric, vendor, and cost, reviewing strike-offs, and developing new techniques across existing and new fabric bases. Below are novelty techniques I've developed over the years with Athleta.
ALLOVER SHINE | FOIL PRINTS
A best seller for three consecutive years. Each holiday season, I collaborated with the women's color lead to curate colorways, overseeing development and quality throughout.
ALLOVER NOVELTY | EMBOSS AND REFLECTIVE PRINTS
Emboss and reflective prints require extra attention to detail. I oversee development to ensure every technique meets quality and concept standards.
PRINT execution
Oversee print consistency across multiple fabric bases — reviewing strike-offs, matching back to the millsheet, and partnering with the color team to ensure trend colors are protected and executing well.
ENGINEERED PRINTS AND NOVELTY
Every placement is mapped to the pattern piece, ensuring the artwork moves with the body exactly as designed. I develop engineered prints and graphics, laser cut artwork, printed pleats, and functional reflective prints using CLO, in close partnership with our tech design team.
GRAPHIC development
A great graphic is more than what you see — it's how it feels. At Athleta, I source, trial, and develop all techniques, managing handfeel, color, and testing to ensure every graphic meets both creative and production standards.
